Star Citizen Twitch Drops not working: how to fix the Account Connect error
If your Drop is still ticking up, do nothing. The fix below costs you your watch time, so it is only worth doing if you are actually stuck.
What is happening
Claiming the RSI Discovery Month Twitch Drop throws an Account Connect error. CIG appear to have responded by launching a second, duplicate event on the Twitch Drops page. The original listing is dead: you can watch the full four hours on it and still be awarded nothing. The duplicate is the one that unlocks it.
From what has been seen so far, the new listing only appears after you disconnect and reconnect your Twitch and RSI accounts, though some people get it without doing anything. Check before you touch your links.
The part to read twice
Unlinking and relinking does not restore your old progress. You start from zero and watch another four hours under the new listing to claim the Phoenix Insignia Display.
Steps
- Check the Drops page first. If the new event is there and your time is counting, leave it alone. You have nothing to fix.
- If it is missing, or present and not progressing, cycle the connections.
RSI linked accounts · Twitch connections - Reload the Drops page and confirm the new listing is there before you start watching, or you will burn the four hours twice.

Questions
Why are my Star Citizen Twitch Drops not working?
Claiming the RSI Discovery Month Drop throws an Account Connect error. CIG have added a second, duplicate event to the Twitch Drops page, and that duplicate is the one that awards the reward. Watch time on the original listing unlocks nothing, however long you watch it.
How do I fix the Account Connect error on a Star Citizen Twitch Drop?
Unlink and relink your RSI and Twitch accounts, then reload the Twitch Drops page and check the second RSI Discovery Month listing has appeared before you start watching. If the new listing is already showing and your watch time is counting up, do not relink, because relinking costs you the progress you have.
Do I lose my watch time if I relink my accounts?
Yes. Unlinking and relinking does not carry your old progress over. You start from zero and need another four hours under the new listing to claim the Phoenix Insignia Display.
What is the reward for the RSI Discovery Month Twitch Drop?
The Phoenix Insignia Display, a holographic hangar decoration, for four hours of watch time on any Drop-enabled Star Citizen stream.
